Many of you may be familiar with my other book, The Whitney Guide: The Los Angeles Private School Guide, which is now in its tenth year under my name. Well, my first book gave birth to a darling baby preschool guide and here we are turning five! Don’t worry – it’s not as daunting as you might think. Keep focused and clear on what it is that you are looking for and read this book with an open mind. You may find that there are schools in here that you never would have considered, but now as you read the review, you may feel more inclined to go visit the school and see for yourself.
I have changed the format of this book and asked the schools to participate more by answering a very detailed questionnaire, which I believe is the sort of information that you want to know. Some schools answered every question while others chose not to, and I have noted that in the Q&A section. I tried to keep my reviews short and to the point, but wanted to give you a taste of each school from a parent’s perspective. This year I have added a number of new schools that I wanted you all to know about.
Please forgive me if I have left out a school that one of your children went to, or a school that you’ve heard good things about in the list of schools reviewed. I would love to know about it for a future edition. I have tried to keep the information current. Each year I do my best to update information in the body of each review, but this is not always possible, so feel free to contact me with any comments, suggestions or information that you feel would make this a more useful guide for you as parents. You can also find information about my School Guide Consultation Service.
In the meantime, please use this book as if it were a school workbook. Don’t worry about writing in it or even tearing out a page or two. I want you to get as much out of it as I put into it. I do hope that this guide will help to illuminate the path that lies ahead.
Best of luck in your search!
