Pacific Hills School :

Pacific Hills School is located on Holloway Drive just below Sunset Boulevard and a stone’s throw from Book Soup. It’s a small urban campus with no playing fields, no swimming pool and no cafeteria (a catering truck does come into the campus every day offering the students hot or cold choices for lunch). There are approximately 15 classrooms, administrative offices, an auditorium, a computer lab with 15 computers and a library.

As I said, there are no playing fields but the school believes that a thorough education must provide for the physical, social and recreational needs of the students so they bus the kids to local parks and often rent out the gym at Daniel Murphy. Daily PE is required from grades 6-11 but is optional for seniors. In the middle school, students participate in team and lifetime sports such as flag football, volleyball, soccer, floor hockey, softball, track and golf.

The brochure says that “While these classes emphasize participation, skill development and fitness, they are also just plain fun!” If your child is serious about sports, there is a championship athletic program that guarantees that the more competitive students are looked after. The school has won recent C.I.F. championships in both basketball and softball.
