Ribet Academy :

Ribét Academy is located just east of the Glendale (2) Freeway at San Fernando Road in the San Fernando Valley. The three-story facility once housed a Catholic school for boys, and you get the feeling that not much has been done in the way of renovations for many years. The building, which can be viewed from the freeway, looks more like a hospital than a school and is slightly run down.

Inside, the hallways are extra-wide and the classrooms are large and bright. The school administration is working hard to rid the school of the institutional feeling that the facility has had in the past. The school leases the property from the Catholic church and they have a 16-year lease left. However, the walls have been painted inside and out, there is a new gymnasium (bleacher seating), play areas, tennis courts, football field, and track, and the school has a lovely new garden.

Ribét is a traditional academic school. Character education is also stressed. There is a school cafeteria (at the sub-basement level) where hot lunch is served, a renovated 22,000 volume library, a baseball diamond, and three outside basketball courts.
