Fiona Whitney is pleased to offer a new service - “School Guides,” a counseling service designed to help guide parents through the often confusing and time-consuming process of finding the right school for their child.

Fiona Whitney, who also works with Mars Berman a a retired  Montessori school teacher and is Momstyle News' expert columnist on  the topic of schooling and early childhood development, offer one-on-one and/or group counseling for parents who need help making a decision, often after having sifted through mountains of materials a parent can find themselves  even more confused than they were before! There are so many choices, but don't worry they can help you.

Here are some of the topics that will be covered during your consultation, along with a short list of schools that will be recommended for you to take a closer look at.

• What are the definitions of the various school teaching methods?

• Which one is right for your family? Will the right preschool lead to the right grade school?

• Are there "feeder" schools and which ones are they?

• What are your Kindergarten/Elementary/Middle and High School options?

• Should my child attend public or private school?

• What is the difference between a charter school and a magnet school and how do you apply to attend either?

• Have you added up the 'total' costs of a private school?

• How far are you willing to commute?
